The Ukrainian Team Heads to the USA for Negotiations

President Zelensky noted that in the coming days, meetings between Ukrainian representatives and officials from the United States will take place. The delegation includes Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, Head of the President’s Office Kyrylo Budanov, and Head of the parliamentary faction “Servant of the People” Davyd Arakhamia. They are already on their way to the USA to participate in the planned negotiations.

“The Ukrainian team, despite everything, is actively working with representatives of the President of the United States – meetings of our representatives are scheduled for these days,” said Volodymyr Zelensky.

Negotiations on Security and Support for Ukraine

According to the head of state, the Ukrainian side expects to gain greater clarity regarding the documents prepared with the American side, as well as responses from Russia to diplomatic initiatives. Issues of security guarantees for Ukraine and the prospects for ending the war are gaining particular attention.

It was previously reported that U.S. Special Representative Steve Vitkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of former President Donald Trump, plan to visit Moscow. This step may be part of broader diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.

On January 6, negotiations of the so-called “Coalition of the Willing” took place in Paris, dedicated to a plan for ending the Russo-Ukrainian war and providing security guarantees for Ukraine. Steve Vitkoff and Jared Kushner joined the consultations, and following the meeting, the Paris Declaration was adopted. It envisions the deployment of multinational forces in Ukraine after the cessation of hostilities with the support of the USA, which should ensure reliable and lasting peace in the region.
