Main Topics of Negotiations in the USA

As reported by Andriy Yermak, the Ukrainian delegation will hold a series of meetings with representatives from both political parties that support Ukraine, as well as with President Donald Trump’s team. The agenda includes issues of defense support, the situation on the front lines, strengthening sanctions against Russia, particularly Senator Graham’s bill, and the implementation of the agreement to create an Investment Fund for Reconstruction, which has already been signed earlier.

“We will actively promote important issues for Ukraine. Our agenda is quite comprehensive. We plan to discuss defense support and the situation on the battlefield, strengthening sanctions against Russia, including Senator Graham’s bill. We will also discuss the agreement on the creation of the Investment Fund for Reconstruction that was signed earlier. Additionally, we will address the issue of the return of deported Ukrainian children by Russia and support for this process. We will also discuss Russian propaganda related to church matters,” Yermak wrote on Telegram.

Particular attention will be given to the topic of returning deported Ukrainian children and countering Russian propaganda related to religious themes.

Discussion of Ceasefire and Results of Negotiations in Istanbul

The Ukrainian delegation will inform American partners about the progress of negotiations with the Russian delegation in Istanbul. According to Andriy Yermak, Russia is dragging out the ceasefire and peace negotiations, seeking to buy time to continue military actions.

First Deputy Foreign Minister Serhiy Kyslytsia, who participated in the negotiations in Istanbul, noted that during the second round of meetings between Ukraine and Russia, no agreement on a ceasefire was reached. The Ukrainian side proposed an unconditional ceasefire, but Moscow continues to reject this idea. Furthermore, the Russian delegation only delivered its memorandum regarding the ceasefire to Ukraine on June 2, and now Kyiv is analyzing these proposals.

Ukraine insists on an immediate and unconditional cessation of hostilities, a position also held by the USA, which initiated the negotiation process between Kyiv and Moscow. However, Russia currently does not agree to these terms.

President Donald Trump stated that he expects a response regarding the Russian leader’s intentions to end the war within two weeks. He added that he would only be able to voice a final position after the relevant agreement is signed.
