Yulia Svyrydenko reported that the government has appealed to the National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utilities with a proposal to postpone the planned changes to water tariffs. According to her, in the context of war, it is important to minimize additional financial burdens on the citizens of Ukraine.
“The government has approached the National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utilities to postpone the planned tariff changes. Our position is clear: in wartime, people should not feel additional financial pressure,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.
Finding a Balance Between Consumer Interests and Water Utilities
The Prime Minister emphasized that the next step should be the development of a joint solution by the government and the National Commission. It should take into account both the interests of consumers and the needs of water supply enterprises. Yulia Svyrydenko pointed out that water utilities should not incur losses or accumulate debts, and the state aims to ensure stability in the provision of utility services.
