As of the evening of March 2, the Ukrainian embassy in Israel has no information about Ukrainian citizens killed or injured as a result of the recent hostilities. This was stated by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel, Yevhen Korniychuk.

Situation Regarding the Evacuation of Ukrainians
According to Yevhen Korniychuk, approximately 25 citizens have contacted the embassy requesting evacuation. Most of them are people who came to Israel for pilgrimage purposes or for a short visit to friends or relatives, and did not expect to find themselves in a combat situation. The embassy has not received inquiries from those who have been left without funds or housing.
“Regarding evacuation – people have reached out, but there are not many of them. Currently, I have 25 inquiries. These are people who came for pilgrimage tours and certainly did not expect such a situation. And those who were visiting acquaintances or relatives briefly and would like to leave,” he said.
Korniychuk emphasized that there is currently no need for a mass evacuation of Ukrainians. The crossing to Egypt operates around the clock, and citizens can use both buses and private transport for departure. The journey from the border to Sharm el-Sheikh takes about two hours. The embassy maintains contact with citizens through a hotline and email, and consular services are provided as usual.
Response to Escalation in the Middle East
If the number of those wishing to evacuate exceeds one hundred, the embassy will consider the possibility of organized evacuation in cooperation with private companies. The ambassador noted that the current situation differs from previous ones: alarm signals are sounded less frequently and last for a short time, averaging 15-20 minutes, after which people return to their usual activities. At the same time, citizens are advised to strictly follow the instructions of the Israeli rear command to avoid danger.
Militarily, the situation in the region remains tense. Following the strikes carried out by the US and Israel on February 28, which resulted in the death of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking officials, Iran retaliated with missile and drone attacks on Israel, US facilities, and a number of neighboring countries that are considered allies of Washington in Tehran. The strikes targeted not only military but also civilian objects, including residential buildings, hotels, and airports. Foreign military personnel present in the Middle East were also affected.
