Details of the Charges and Court Decision
On October 29, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for Volodymyr Kudrytskyi in the form of detention until December 26, with the possibility of posting bail. He is suspected of fraudulently acquiring funds from a state enterprise. According to the State Bureau of Investigation, in 2018, when Kudrytskyi held the position of Deputy Director for Investments at the State Enterprise “NEC “Ukrenergo,” he, along with representatives of a private company, signed two contracts worth over 68 million UAH during tenders for the reconstruction of substations in the Southern and Western energy systems. The state enterprise transferred over 13.7 million UAH in advance to the contractor, which, according to investigators, was embezzled by the participants in the scheme without any intention to fulfill the obligations.
Position of Volodymyr Kudrytskyi
Volodymyr Kudrytskyi has been informed of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud committed by a group of persons in collusion, in particularly large amounts). Kudrytskyi himself describes the suspicion as unfounded and absurd.
“As far as I know, indeed, bail was posted for the former head of ‘Ukrenergo’.”
According to Kudrytskyi, the case concerns events from 2025, when he was no longer working at the company, and his status in the criminal proceedings is currently defined as a witness. It is worth noting that in September of last year, the supervisory board prematurely terminated his powers as chairman of the board of ‘Ukrenergo’. After that, according to Kudrytskyi, a campaign to discredit the company began in anonymous Telegram channels and certain media outlets.
