Last week, escalators in the Kyiv metro stopped 112 times. A significant portion of these stops occurred due to violations of usage rules by passengers.

Reasons for Escalator Stops
According to the Kyiv Metro, 64 stops were necessary to prevent injuries to passengers. Another 33 incidents occurred due to personal belongings getting caught in the escalator mechanism. Additionally, passengers pressed the “stop” button unnecessarily on five occasions.
“We urge everyone to be cautious and follow the rules of conduct,” the metro’s press service addressed the passengers.
Passenger Flow Last Week
During the reporting period, nearly 5 million passengers used the capital’s metro. Among them, 1.2 million individuals were entitled to free travel.
The metro administration emphasizes the importance of being attentive to personal belongings while on escalators and adhering to the rules of using the subway to avoid emergency situations and delays in transport operations.
