Yermak and Umerov Discuss Support for Peace and Security for Ukraine in Riyadh

The Head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, visited the capital of Saudi Arabia, where they held a series of important negotiations with representatives of the kingdom’s government.

Negotiations on Peace Settlement for Ukraine

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia, Khalid bin Salman Al Saud. The main topic of discussion was the possibilities for achieving sustainable peace for Ukraine and defining Saudi Arabia’s role in this process. Ukrainian officials emphasized the need to involve the kingdom in peacekeeping initiatives aimed at ensuring long-term stability in the region.

“The paths to achieving sustainable peace for Ukraine and Saudi Arabia’s participation in this process are the main topics of our conversation,” he stated.

Discussion of Security Guarantees and Cooperation with Other Countries

In addition to negotiations with the Minister of Defense, Yermak and Umerov met with the National Security Advisor and a member of the Saudi government, Mosaad bin Muhammad Al Aiban. During the meeting, the concept of security guarantees for Ukraine was discussed, which is intended to enhance the country’s protection against external threats and contribute to stability in the region.

According to Andriy Yermak, Saudi Arabia holds a leading position among Ukraine’s international partners in matters of peacekeeping. He expressed gratitude to the kingdom for its active support of Ukraine on the path to a just peace.

As part of the working trip, the Ukrainian delegation also met with representatives of the Qatari authorities. The parties discussed current challenges in the field of security and defense, as well as opportunities for developing strategic cooperation between Ukraine and Qatar. Special attention was given to the outcomes of the leaders’ summit in Washington, which outlined further directions for international support for Ukraine.
