The Sviatoshyn District Court of Kyiv has sentenced a 21-year-old man to seven years in prison for assaulting a soldier. The incident occurred in February of this year when the soldier was returning home after duty.

Law enforcement officials reported that the victim contacted the police, describing the attack by an unknown assailant. During investigative measures, detectives determined that a previously convicted young man was involved in the crime, having followed the soldier near the metro station. When the opportunity arose, he attacked the man, snatching a bag that contained a laptop and a mobile phone.
During a search, the stolen items were found and seized from the suspect.
