Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron following a large-scale night missile strike by Russia that hit Kyiv and several other cities across the country. The heads of state focused on coordinating actions to strengthen the response to aggression and discussed further steps for cooperation in the field of security.

Casualties Among Civilians and Infrastructure Damage
During the night attack on September 7, Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine suffered massive missile strikes. According to official information, a mother with her infant and an elderly woman who was in a shelter were killed in the capital as a result of the Russian attack. Another twenty individuals sustained injuries of varying severity.
In Sloviansk, a civilian woman was killed during a strike by a Russian drone, and five other women were injured. The target of the attack was a regular passenger minibus, indicating a deliberate strike on civilian infrastructure.
Government Response and International Support
In addition to Kyiv and Sloviansk, strikes were recorded in Kryvyi Rih, Odesa, and the Poltava region. In Kremenchuk, enemy strikes damaged a railway bridge, leading to changes in the routes of several passenger trains.
“Unfortunately, four people have died in Ukraine, and over 44 have been injured. Our rescuers and emergency services are still addressing the aftermath of the attack across the country. We have coordinated our diplomatic efforts, next steps, and contacts with partners to ensure an appropriate response,” Zelensky wrote, adding that “together with France, we are preparing new measures to strengthen our defense.”
Ukraine’s diplomatic efforts, particularly in cooperation with France, are aimed at enhancing the country’s defense capabilities and holding Russia accountable for numerous attacks on the civilian population. Emergency services continue to work at the sites of the strikes, addressing the aftermath and assisting the affected individuals.
