Ukraine Prepares for the Next Round of Dialogue
According to the president, the Ukrainian side is working daily to ensure that the upcoming round of negotiations yields tangible results for the country and advances the path to peace. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is ready to do everything necessary to achieve peace and will not hinder this process. He also noted that international partners, particularly in Washington, clearly see that Moscow’s position is the main obstacle to substantial agreements.
“Last time in Geneva, the American side clearly saw that the Russians are the reason for the lack of truly significant results. The next meeting must not be empty; this is possible. Today, we discussed some aspects of the negotiation preparation with Rustem Umierov,” Zelensky said.
Negotiations in Switzerland: Military Progress and Political Issues
Earlier, in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the next round of trilateral negotiations involving Ukraine, the USA, and Russia will take place in Switzerland. However, the president did not specify the exact date of the meeting, emphasizing only the importance of conducting negotiations on a European platform.
After the previous meeting in Geneva, Zelensky noted that the parties had made some progress on military issues, but there remain “sensitive questions” in the political sphere. The president emphasized that dialogue continues in the political direction, and the parties agreed to continue negotiations, although there has not yet been a significant breakthrough. Zelensky promised to provide more detailed information regarding the political aspects after the negotiation group returns to Ukraine.
