Zelensky also expressed gratitude to Ukraine’s partners, particularly emphasizing the significance of the leadership of the United Kingdom and France. “It is this kind of joint effort, when everyone is focused on a strong outcome, that helps bring about reliable and lasting peace in Ukraine,” he concluded.
Meeting of Military Leaders
The chiefs of staff of the armed forces of France and the United Kingdom, Thierry Burkhard and Tony Radakin, visited Kyiv the day before. The meeting with the President of Ukraine took place with the participation of Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
President Zelensky also announced that on April 4, there will be a meeting of military leaders from a group of countries ready to deploy military forces in Ukraine “in one form or another.” In recent weeks, France and the United Kingdom have held a series of summits with European leaders in Paris and London, gathering defense chiefs from various countries to discuss possible security guarantees and the format of foreign military forces in Ukraine.
