Zelensky Excludes Andriy Yermak from the National Security and Defense Council and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has made the decision to revise the composition of the National Security and Defense Council, as well as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff. The relevant changes are formalized in decrees published on the official website of the head of state.

Removal of Andriy Yermak from Leadership Positions

According to the new decrees, Andriy Yermak is no longer a member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Additionally, based on the proposal of the National Security and Defense Council, he has been removed from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff. The mentioned decrees take effect immediately upon publication.

Context Surrounding the Resignation and Searches

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced plans to reveal the name of the new head of the President’s Office soon. On November 28, it became known about investigative actions taking place in the offices of the head of the President’s Office. Andriy Yermak commented on the situation, stating:

There are no obstacles for the investigators

At the same time, no official information regarding the reasons for the searches and the procedural status of Yermak has been received. According to media reports, he is not a suspect in any criminal proceedings.

On the same day, Zelensky stated that Andriy Yermak had submitted his resignation as head of the President’s Office. The head of state thanked Yermak for his active participation in international negotiations and emphasized the importance of transparency to avoid any “rumors and speculation.”
