Discussion of the Trilateral Meeting

According to Zelensky, during the negotiations, the main focus will be on assessing the current state of the negotiation process and the prospects for holding a trilateral meeting involving Ukraine, the USA, and the Russian Federation. The President emphasized that the parties intend to determine how close they are to agreements that would allow such a meeting to take place in the near future.

“Tomorrow, a conversation with the American side was planned in video format. I will join. They also asked me to. I discussed this with the NATO Secretary General. We agreed that he, I, Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Lindsey Graham, and a few others will be there,” he told reporters during the Bucha Summit.

Proposal for an Energy Ceasefire and Results of Previous Negotiations

Zelensky emphasized that he intends to present the USA with a proposal for an energy ceasefire. However, no corresponding signals have yet been received from the Russian Federation. The Ukrainian leader expressed hope that American partners would be able to convey this initiative to Russian representatives.

<p>He also noted that despite the difficulties, the trilateral negotiation process between Ukraine, the USA, and Russia continues. The President emphasized that he does not consider these negotiations to be futile. Several rounds of meetings took place in January and February of this year, but no specific results were reported. It is known that on February 5, an agreement was reached on the exchange of prisoners of war – this is the first such exchange in the last five months.

The meeting that was supposed to take place in early March in Abu Dhabi has been postponed indefinitely due to the escalation of the situation in the Middle East. Despite this, Kyiv continues to work with Western partners to find ways to resolve the conflict and establish a ceasefire.
