The sanctions lists currently include 76 individuals, mostly citizens of Russia. At the same time, the list also includes Ukrainian citizens, such as blogger Myroslav Oleshko, former advisor to the President’s Office Oleksiy Arestovych, and political scientist Kostiantyn Bondarenko. Additionally, 81 legal entities have been subjected to restrictions.

Purpose of the Sanctions and Their Impact

According to Zelensky, these measures are aimed at increasing pressure on “Russian networks of influence” and their production and trade operations. He emphasized that Ukrainian sanctions are being coordinated with European ones to create a unified position and achieve maximum effectiveness.

“It is important to continue to exert pressure on Russian networks of influence, as well as on all their production and trade operations. We are trying to synchronize Ukrainian sanctions as much as possible with those in Europe so that this is a common position, and we are already seeing good results”

According to information, on April 18, Zelensky signed a decision to impose sanctions against nearly 40 citizens of Russia and 60 companies, three of which are Chinese. This is part of Ukraine’s systemic strategy to counter the Russian aggressor and reduce its influence at the domestic level and in international relations.
