Two days of negotiations between representatives of Ukraine and the United States have concluded, as reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky. During these meetings, the American side focused primarily on the situation surrounding Iran and events in that region, but the issue of the Russo-Ukrainian war also remained at the center of discussions.

Security Guarantees and the Restoration of Diplomatic Exchanges
President Zelensky emphasized that the international community must not allow the Russian Federation to receive a “reward” for instigating the war against Ukraine. He also highlighted the importance of providing Ukraine and the European Union with sufficient security guarantees to ensure lasting peace and prevent a new outbreak of war in the future.
“There are signals that exchanges may continue, and that would indeed be very good news and confirmation that diplomacy is working. We hope this will happen,” he emphasized.
Outcomes of the Negotiations and Next Steps
Throughout January and February of this year, several rounds of trilateral meetings took place between Ukraine, the US, and Russia aimed at finding ways to end the war. Although the details of the negotiation outcomes remain unknown, during one of the meetings held on February 5, the parties managed to agree on a prisoner exchange, which was the first in the last five months.
The next meeting of representatives from Ukraine, the US, and Russia, which was scheduled to take place in early March in Abu Dhabi (UAE), was postponed due to the escalation of the situation in the Middle East. The negotiation process regarding the resolution of the war continues, and the Ukrainian side hopes for further progress in diplomatic agreements and prisoner exchanges.
