Residents of Kyiv are expressing their dissatisfaction with the annual repairs of the Northern Bridge, which primarily occur in the spring and summer. They are urging the city authorities to put an end to this practice, as it causes long traffic jams and the city budget is spent without necessary efficiency. A corresponding electronic petition has already been posted on the Kyiv City Council website, gaining support among residents.

According to the initiative’s authors, roadworks on the Northern Bridge in Kyiv are conducted every year, often involving the closure of one or more lanes. Moreover, these works usually coincide with periods of high traffic load, significantly complicating movement. As a result, many residents of the left bank of the city are forced to spend hours in traffic jams every morning and evening, negatively impacting their physical and psychological well-being, as well as hindering the economic activity of the capital.

The petition authors note that even before the repairs began, the quality of the road surface was quite satisfactory. However, despite this, the contracting organizations remove the existing surface and lay down a new one.
