As a result of an explosion in one of the apartments in the Svyatoshyn district of Kyiv, one person has died and another has been injured.

Details of the Explosion and the Victims
Law enforcement officials reported that the tragedy occurred last night in a residential building in the Svyatoshyn district. A 41-year-old man was killed in the incident. His 65-year-old father, who is the owner of the apartment, sustained injuries.
The powerful explosion destroyed the balcony and damaged the window frames of the apartment.
Preliminary Findings of the Investigation and Further Actions
“According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred due to the detonation of an unknown explosive device,” the police stated.
The investigative department of the Svyatoshyn police has opened criminal proceedings under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 1 of Article 115 (intentional murder) and Part 1 of Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons and ammunition).
Currently, investigators, forensic experts, and specialists from the explosives service are working at the scene to determine the final causes and circumstances of the explosion.
