Last week, Kyiv registered 10,102 cases of flu and acute respiratory viral infections, including COVID-19. This figure is 6.6% higher than the previous week, when 9,480 cases were recorded.

Trends Among Children and Adults
Of all those infected, 4,238 are adults, which is a 12.7% increase compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, the number of sick children reached 5,864, an increase of 2.5%. Children make up 58% of the total number of patients, although the previous week this share was 60.3%.
There is a particularly noticeable decrease in illness among schoolchildren. In this group, 3,303 cases were recorded, which is 2.3% less than before. Schoolchildren account for 56.3% of all sick children and 32.7% of the total number of patients across all categories.
COVID-19 Situation
The incidence of COVID-19 in the capital decreased by almost one and a half times over the week. 274 new cases were identified, including 32 in children. In comparison, the previous week recorded 398 cases of illness, including 54 in children.
“Autumn is a season of increased illness. Follow hygiene rules, avoid crowded places, and don’t forget about vaccination – it’s an effective way to protect yourself and your loved ones,” urged the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
