A former prosecutor will stand trial in Kyiv, accused of causing a fatal traffic accident. According to the investigation, the man, while under the influence of alcohol, struck a 61-year-old woman, resulting in her death from the injuries sustained.

It has been established that on the evening of July 19, 2025, the former law enforcement officer was driving a vehicle and entered a pedestrian zone on Velyka Vasylkivska Street. There, he hit a woman who was walking on the sidewalk. After the incident, the driver attempted to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended by law enforcement. A medical examination revealed a significant level of alcohol in the defendant’s blood.

Trial Proceedings and Preventive Measures
The prosecution has already submitted the indictment to the Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv. The Chief Prosecutor Ruslan Kravchenko has been appointed as the head of the prosecutorial group in this criminal case. Currently, the suspect is in custody, and the possibility of bail has been excluded.
