Kallas Warns European Leaders Against Participating in the Parade in Moscow

The High Representative of the European Union for Security and Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, expressed concern regarding the participation of European leaders in the military celebrations planned in Moscow on May 9. She emphasized that such participation would not be taken lightly, especially given that Russia is waging a full-scale war in Europe.

“What was also discussed very clearly, and mentioned by various member states, is that any participation in parades or celebrations on May 9 in Moscow will not be taken lightly from the European side, considering that Russia is indeed waging a full-scale war in Europe,” Kallas noted during a press conference in Luxembourg following a meeting of foreign ministers.

Kallas also added: “We have made it very clear that we do not want any candidate country to participate in these events on May 9 in Moscow.” This comment reflects the unified position of European countries regarding military parades in Russia.

According to information coming from Russian media, the Russian government has sent invitations to the leaders of China, India, and Brazil, as well as Slovakia and Serbia, who are seeking to join the European Union. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico had previously expressed his intention to participate in the celebrations taking place on May 9 in Moscow.
