Additional Funds for Kyiv’s Defense

During the plenary session on September 11, the Kyiv City Council deputies made a decision to significantly increase funding for the city target program “Defender of Kyiv.” The budget for this program has increased by 4 billion hryvnias and now amounts to nearly 11 billion hryvnias. This step is intended to enhance support for the Defense Forces and strengthen the city’s security amid the ongoing aggression of the Russian Federation.

Support for Kyiv Residents Affected by the War

In addition to defense measures, deputies allocated an additional 130 million hryvnias for the program “Care. Towards Kyiv Residents.” According to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, payments totaling 590 million hryvnias have already been made under this program. Among them are 150 million hryvnias in material assistance to residents of the capital who have been affected by attacks from the Russian Federation.

“Currently, according to the mayor, payments for Kyiv residents totaling 50 million hryvnias are also being processed, which is why there is an urgent need to increase funding for the program.”

The increase in social support will allow for a prompt response to the needs of residents who have been affected by military actions and require assistance from the city.
