Law enforcement officers detained the young man who brutally beat and robbed the girl during their first date. The incident occurred after the 26-year-old victim agreed to meet at the apartment of her new acquaintance, whom she had met online.

Conflict and Armed Robbery

According to the police, a conflict arose between the young people during the meeting. The suspect pulled out a pneumatic pistol, began threatening the girl, struck her on the head with the weapon, and also kicked her body. After that, he took 500 hryvnias from the victim’s jacket pocket and fled the scene of the crime.

“During the meeting, a conflict arose between them, during which the perpetrator pulled out a pistol and, threatening the girl, began to hit her on the head and kick her body. After this, the suspect took 500 hryvnias from the victim’s jacket pocket and fled,” the statement said.

Detention of the Attacker and Further Actions

Investigators quickly identified the suspect. Just a few hours later, he was arrested at a friend’s apartment. During a search of the man’s residence, law enforcement officers seized the pneumatic pistol he used during the crime. The attacker explained that he resorted to robbery because the girl did not match her dating site photos in real life.

At this time, the detained individual has already been charged under part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — robbery combined with violence dangerous to life and health, committed under martial law. According to the law, he faces up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The suspect is currently in custody, but the court has allowed for the possibility of bail.
