In the capital, a man under the influence of alcohol pursued a schoolgirl and attempted to force her into intimacy.

Court ruling on the incident in the Svyatoshyn district
The Svyatoshyn District Court of Kyiv sentenced a man to one and a half years of probation for harassing a minor in the elevator of a residential building in May 2025. According to the case materials, the perpetrator was intoxicated when he saw the girl returning from school and began to pursue her. He entered the building with her and headed to the elevator, taking the opportunity to be alone with the child.
Details of the incident and the victim’s reaction
In the elevator, the man began to harass the schoolgirl, touching her and persistently suggesting intimate relations. In response to the girl’s protests, the attacker replied:
“I thought you wanted this too.”
When the elevator reached the ninth floor, the victim managed to escape from the cabin and flee. In court, the accused admitted his guilt and did not contest the indictment. The man was found guilty under part one of Article 154 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – coercion to engage in sexual intercourse.
By the court’s decision, the perpetrator received 1 year and 6 months of probation.
