Incident at the Capital Club

Law enforcement received information from social media about an entertainment event that took place at a city club, despite the officially declared Day of Mourning. Police promptly went to the specified address but encountered resistance from the establishment’s staff.

“Since the doors were locked and the staff refused to open them at the request of law enforcement, the police conducted an urgent search, during which they found over 30 visitors and the club’s administration inside. Those present were taken to the territorial police department, and the police drew up administrative protocols against them under Article 173 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (minor hooliganism) and Article 185 of the Code (willful disobedience to a lawful request of a police officer),” the Kyiv police communication department reported.

Investigation and Possible Consequences

After the search, more than 30 visitors and administrators were taken to the territorial police department. Administrative protocols for minor hooliganism and willful disobedience to lawful requests of police officers were drawn up against all those detained.

Additionally, a criminal proceeding has been opened against the organizers of the party under part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – “hooliganism.” According to current legislation, offenders face a fine or administrative arrest for up to 15 days.

The police emphasized that a pre-trial investigation into this incident is ongoing and all circumstances of the event are being established.
