Petition for Video Surveillance in Metro Cars
An electronic petition has appeared on the official website of the Kyiv City Council, in which residents propose to install video cameras equipped with facial recognition systems in the capital’s metro cars. The authors of the initiative are convinced that this innovation will contribute to increased passenger safety during trips and allow for more effective prevention of illegal activities in the subway.
Advantages of Using Facial Recognition Cameras
The petition emphasizes the need for prompt responses to emergencies and the prevention of crimes in public transport. The initiators point out that video recordings from the cameras should be transmitted to the observation points of the National Police of Ukraine to ensure control and rapid interaction when necessary.
“Images from such IP cameras need to be transmitted to the observation points of the National Police of Ukraine.”
The petition is currently open for signatures from all willing residents of the capital who seek to enhance safety in public transport.
