The suspect faces up to 15 years in prison
In Kyiv, the pre-trial investigation has been completed in the case of a 51-year-old woman accused of murdering her friend during a quarrel. Law enforcement officials have submitted the indictment to the court, and the suspect is currently in custody.
Circumstances of the tragedy in the Solomyanskyi district
The tragic incident occurred in early 2025 in one of the high-rise buildings in the Solomyanskyi district of the capital. Neighbors called the police after hearing loud screams and sounds of a fight coming from the apartment. The police crew that arrived at the scene found the body of a 46-year-old homeowner with multiple stab wounds.
“Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered the body of a 46-year-old woman with stab wounds. According to police, the victim had invited a friend to her home, where the two women consumed alcoholic beverages together. During a sudden quarrel, the 51-year-old local resident inflicted several knife wounds on the apartment owner, one of which, to the chest, turned out to be fatal.”
Legal consequences and status of the case
After the crime was committed, the suspect was detained at the scene. She was charged under part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional murder. This article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for up to 15 years.
The trial regarding the accused will take place in the near future in a Kyiv court.
