Watermelon Treats for Zoo Residents
This weekend, the capital’s zoo will organize an unusual treat for the primates residing in the Lower Park. Juicy watermelons will be a real delicacy for the baboons, hamadryas, cat lemurs, black mangabeys, macaques, green monkeys, Brazza’s monkeys, guenons, siamang gibbons, and silvery gibbons.

“This weekend, our primates living in the Lower Park will enjoy juicy watermelon,” reports the press service of Kyiv Zoo.

Feeding Demonstrations and Benefits for the Animals
The feeding demonstrations will take place on September 13 and 14 at 10:30 AM. Experts emphasize that changes in the menu and updates in the enclosures are an important part of the zoo management process, which contributes to enriching the environment for the animals. This approach not only diversifies the primates’ diet but also makes visiting the zoo more exciting for guests.
“Updates in the enclosures and changes in the menu are necessary and beneficial for the animals, and they are also extremely interesting for visitors,” note the Kyiv Zoo.
During the festive weekends, everyone will have the opportunity to see how exotic animals receive seasonal treats and learn more about their habits and behaviors. Photos from the event will be published on the zoo’s official pages.
