A meeting of military representatives from Turkey and foreign nations will take place in Ankara on April 15-16, where issues of security in the Black Sea will be discussed. This was announced in an official statement from the Turkish Ministry of National Defense.

“On April 15-16, a meeting regarding security in the Black Sea will be held at the headquarters of the Naval Forces following a potential ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.”

It is expected that military delegations from both Turkey and other countries will participate in the event. However, at this time, the specific list of participants is not being disclosed.

Negotiations on Safe Navigation

According to information published by CNN Turk, the meeting is set to occur at the level of the defense ministries of Russia and Ukraine. It is known that Turkey is acting as the organizer and mediator in these negotiations.

Additionally, on March 25, the White House announced an agreement between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia, which includes matters of safe navigation in the Black Sea and the establishment of a mechanism to prohibit strikes on energy facilities.

Security Conditions from the Kremlin

The Kremlin stated that the agreement to ensure safe navigation in the Black Sea will only take effect after the lifting of a number of sanctions imposed on Russian banks involved in agricultural trade, as well as on Russian vessels.
