Location of the Sculpture and Its Significance

The new mini sculpture has been placed on the facade of the building where the “Smoloskyp” publishing house has been operating for over twenty years. It is here that, for decades, authors, translators, and other figures in the literary field have gathered to initiate a new chapter in the history of Ukrainian literature.

Symbolism and Significance

The original idea of the sculpture lies in its symbolism: the sharpened pencil embodies the creative search, inspiration, and the power of words. It is believed that touching this pencil can provide a surge of inspiration for new ideas and creative achievements.

“It was installed on the building located at 21 Mezhyhirskyi Street, where the ‘Smoloskyp’ publishing house has been situated for the last twenty years. This is where people gathered who initiated a new history of Ukrainian writing,” as stated on the Facebook page “Our Kyiv.”

The mini sculpture has already become a new attraction for residents and guests of the capital, reminding everyone of the importance of words in each person’s life.
