Night Rocket Strike on Kyiv: Consequences, Destruction, and Rescue Operations

During the night, the capital of Ukraine was once again attacked by Russian occupiers using drones and ballistic targets. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA), one ballistic object and 28 Russian drones were detected in the airspace of the city and its surroundings, of which 11 were shot down. Ten of them left the airspace of Kyiv, while three were lost at the locations.

The targeted enemy drones were primarily aimed at residential areas of the city. Preliminary reports indicate that debris from military objects and munitions caused destruction in several districts of the capital. As a result of the strikes, injuries and fatalities were recorded, along with damage to civilian infrastructure.

Consequences of the Morning Attack and Damage to Infrastructure

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), destruction was recorded in the Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts of Kyiv. In particular, in the Sviatoshynskyi district, debris hit a 9-story residential building, causing a fire in apartments on the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth floors. The fire was extinguished over an area of more than 100 square meters, and five residents were rescued, including one adult and three children, three of whom were hospitalized with burns.

In the Solomianskyi district, debris from the UAV fell on open territory, while in the Dniprovskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, residential buildings were damaged. As a result of the destruction, apartment units on various floors were affected, including in high-rise buildings on the 29th and 30th floors. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, debris caused fires in apartments on the third and fifth floors, leading to tragic consequences – during the firefighting efforts, the bodies of two deceased individuals were found.

As of the morning hour, the number of injured as a result of the attack has risen to eight individuals. Medical personnel hospitalized one woman, while three children and four adults were previously taken to hospitals. Four more victims received assistance on-site. Authorities are urging residents to be cautious and adhere to safety rules during alerts and air raid warnings.
