Discussion of Attacks on Russian Airfields
According to Trump, he and Putin discussed in detail the recent strikes by Ukraine on Russian military aircraft stationed at airbases, as well as other combat actions from both sides. The American leader emphasized that the conversation was constructive, but did not lead to an immediate resolution of the conflict.
“We discussed Ukraine’s attack on Russian planes located at bases, as well as various other attacks that have occurred from both sides. It was a good conversation, but not one that will lead to immediate peace. President Putin firmly stated that he would have to respond to the recent attack on airfields.”
Trump highlighted that Putin expressed determination to respond to the recent attack on airfields.
Iran’s Nuclear Program
The second important topic of the conversation was Iran’s nuclear program. The U.S. President noted that he made it clear to Putin: Iran should not have nuclear weapons, and the parties agreed on this issue. Additionally, Putin suggested joining negotiations with Iran and possibly facilitating a swift resolution to this matter. Trump added that a “final response” from Iran is needed as soon as possible to resolve the situation.
It is worth noting that on June 1, Ukrainian drones attacked a number of Russian military airfields, using drones disguised in modular houses on truck platforms. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, more than 40 Russian military aircraft were destroyed during this operation. The operation, as reported in Kyiv, was prepared for about a year and a half.
Through the analysis of video recordings and satellite images, it was independently confirmed that at least 11 Russian strategic bombers were destroyed.
