On the night of March 24, the Russian Federation launched a large-scale combined attack on the territory of Ukraine, resulting in damage reported in 11 regions of the country. President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the importance of timely fulfillment of agreements regarding the supply of air defense systems and stressed the need to increase missile production to protect European countries.

Consequences of the strike and number of casualties
As a result of the attack, according to official information, four people were killed, including residents of Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv regions. In particular, in Poltava, two people died as a result of the strike, and another person became a victim of shelling in Zaporizhzhia. In Kharkiv region, the attack targeted a commuter train, resulting in the death of one passenger. Additionally, dozens of people were injured, including children.
“As of now, it is known that four people, unfortunately, lost their lives during the attack. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Dozens more were injured, including children,” the president emphasized.
Scale of the combined attack by the Russian Federation
According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the nighttime shelling, Russian troops used strike drones and air and ground-based missiles. In total, radio-technical troops recorded 426 air attack means aimed at critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine. This attack became one of the largest in recent times, highlighting the urgent need to strengthen the country’s air defense system.
The president emphasized the necessity of continued support for Ukraine from international partners to ensure the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure from similar threats.
