A new resident has settled in at Kyiv Zoo — an exotic savannah cat named Malia. The predator has been placed in a natural enclosure in the fruit garden, where she has already begun to acclimate and explore her territory.

Malia, who was transferred to Kyiv Zoo by volunteers, has successfully completed the necessary quarantine. Now, visitors have the opportunity to observe her life in a spacious natural enclosure designed for the animal’s maximum comfort.
“Like all cats, Malia loves fresh meat, sharpens her claws from time to time, chases after toys, jumps around, plays, or simply enjoys a sweet nap,” the zoo staff shared.

The savannah cat is a hybrid of a domestic cat and an African serval. It is distinguished by its large size: the height at the shoulder can reach 60 centimeters, and its weight can be up to 15 kilograms. With its spotted coat and playful nature, the savannah cat captivates visitors of all ages.
