The Central Election Commission has announced the recognition of Sergiy Karabuta as the newly elected People’s Deputy of Ukraine from the political party Servant of the People. This decision was made after receiving documents from the apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada confirming the early termination of the powers of the previous deputy, Oleksandr Kabanov, who passed away in January 2026 and held the 87th position on the party list.

Procedure for Registering the New Deputy
According to the press service of the Central Election Commission, Sergiy Karabuta was the next candidate in line on the party list, holding number 156. In accordance with legislative requirements, he must submit the necessary documents for official registration as a People’s Deputy within 20 days. After receiving these documents, the commission must make a final decision within five days.
Experience and Activities of Sergiy Karabuta
It is known that Sergiy Karabuta ran for the Verkhovna Rada in 2019 from the political party Servant of the People as an independent candidate. Prior to his election to parliament, he was a co-founder and director of a tourism company.
“The CEC reviewed the specified document and recognized Sergiy Karabuta, the next candidate in line included in the electoral list of the political party Servant of the People under No. 156, as the elected People’s Deputy of Ukraine,” the press service stated.
