On October 4, the Living History Festival titled “To the Festivities in Kyiv. A Tasty History Through the Centuries” will begin in the Partisan Glory Park in Kyiv. The event is dedicated to the study and recreation of culinary traditions from various historical eras, starting from the times of Kievan Rus and extending to the present day.
Historical Dishes and the Atmosphere of Past Centuries
The organizers plan to create a true journey through time for visitors by recreating the authentic kitchens of each era. Guests will be able to see how dishes were prepared at princely banquets, learn about the menu of the field kitchen of modern Ukrainian defenders, and experience the atmosphere of traditional campaign camps with bubbling cauldrons, the aroma of fresh bread, and the sounds of weaponry.
“From the princely banquets of Kievan Rus to the field kitchens of modern defenders – each era will be represented in its own campaign camp. Here, cauldrons bubble, fresh bread is baked, and the sound of weapons rings out. This celebration of taste and history will gather tradition keepers and guests in the Partisan Glory Park, who will discover and convey the spirit of past centuries, to together experience a journey through the ages – with a spoon in hand and a spark in their hearts,” the festival organizers note.
