President of the United States Donald Trump has announced his intention to make a new statement regarding Russia on July 14. He made this announcement during a phone interview, emphasizing his dissatisfaction with the actions of the Russian Federation.
“I think I will make an important statement about Russia,” he said on July 10 during a phone interview with NBC, stressing that he is “disappointed with Russia.”
Criticism of Putin and Upcoming Sanctions
During the conversation, Donald Trump criticized Vladimir Putin for the continuation of Russia’s massive attacks on Ukrainian territory. The American president noted that he is currently awaiting a decision from Congress regarding a bill on sanctions against countries that purchase Russian energy resources. According to him, this bill will be strict and painful, but the final decision on its implementation will depend on the President of the United States.
Support for Ukraine and Arms Supply
Donald Trump also spoke about achieving a key agreement with NATO member countries. From now on, they will have the right to purchase American weapons for transfer to Ukrainian military forces. According to the president, NATO will supply the weapons, and the alliance will pay for them.
Earlier, on July 1, it became known that the United States temporarily suspended the shipment of certain types of ammunition to Ukraine, including missiles for the Patriot systems. It was reported that this decision was made by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth without prior approval from the White House. Subsequently, the Pentagon and the State Department assured that the supply of weapons to Ukraine had not been completely halted.
