Poland Enhances Support for Ukraine Amid Threat

The Polish General Staff emphasized that the country remains a reliable ally of Ukraine and is ready to continue support in joint efforts to counter Russian aggression. Currently, the General Staff of Ukraine has not officially commented on this conversation.

Incident with Russian Drones in Polish Airspace

The meeting took place against the backdrop of a recent incident: a day before the conversation, Polish authorities reported an incursion into the country’s airspace by 19 Russian drones during a nighttime attack on Ukraine on September 10. All unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed by NATO forces. Polish F-16 fighters, Dutch F-35s, Italian AWACS reconnaissance aircraft, and refueling planes operated by the Alliance were involved in the operation.

“The main topics of the conversation concerned the principles of information exchange about air threats and the possibilities for cooperation in the implementation of technologies and the operational use of unmanned reconnaissance-strike systems within the framework of deploying drones on the battlefield,” the statement said.

At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense claims that on the night of September 10, their forces carried out a massive strike with precision weapons and drones on enterprises of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex in five regions, asserting that “targets for strikes” on Polish territory were not planned. The Polish government, on the contrary, is convinced that the crossing of the border by Russian drones was intentional, not accidental.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, after an urgent meeting of ambassadors from member countries of the Alliance, stated that allies expressed solidarity with Poland and condemned Russia’s actions.
