High-Profile Dismissal in Kyiv Medicine
This is reported by Kyiv24
Valentina Ginzburg, who has led the Health Department of the Kyiv City State Administration since October 2017, has submitted her resignation at her own request. The document was signed by the city mayor, Vitali Klitschko.
Protests and Scandals Surrounding the Department Head
During her tenure, Valentina Ginzburg has repeatedly found herself at the center of major scandals. In particular, in November 2023, a temporary oversight commission investigating the misappropriation of budget funds by the Kyiv City State Administration during martial law recommended Ginzburg’s dismissal. However, at that time, the Kyiv City Council members did not support this initiative.
In March 2025, an electronic petition calling for Valentina Ginzburg’s dismissal was registered on the Kyiv City Council’s website, signed by 6,000 people — the number of votes required for local authorities to consider the issue. Despite this, the head of the Kyiv City State Administration emphasized that there were no legal grounds for the premature dismissal of the department head.
Other Incidents Involving Valentina Ginzburg
Valentina Ginzburg has also been involved in other high-profile events. Notably, she was among the officials who held a party at the Kyiv Sea on a day of mourning for the residents of the capital who had died, which sparked widespread public outcry.
Ginzburg submitted her resignation “at her own request” on September 13.
