Yermak: Zelensky will not sign any document regarding Ukraine’s renunciation of territories

Зеленський не підпише документ про відмову від територій – Єрмак

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will not sign any document that would imply the country’s renunciation of its territories. This was stated by the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, emphasizing the principled position of the Ukrainian authorities regarding the integrity of the state.

Ukraine is ready to discuss only the line of confrontation

Yermak stressed that Ukraine has no intention of conceding its territories, as this is not permitted by the Constitution. According to him, the only issue that can currently be subject to discussion is the determination of the line of confrontation between the parties to the conflict.

“Everything we can realistically talk about now is to define the line of confrontation. And that is what we need to do,” Yermak said.

Peace negotiations and updated demands

Andriy Yermak has been appointed head of the delegation for negotiations with international partners, including the USA and representatives of Russia, with the aim of achieving peace. On November 27, he reported that the Ukrainian and American teams would continue working to develop the preliminary results achieved in Geneva, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high productivity in the negotiations.

Last week, a draft peace plan from the USA was released, which envisages holding elections in Ukraine 100 days after the signing of the agreement, as well as enshrining a non-aligned status in the Ukrainian Constitution and renouncing NATO membership. Additionally, the plan included limitations on the number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, possibly to 600,000 military personnel. However, according to updated information, the new plan contains 19 points, excluding provisions on limiting the number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and amnesty for war crimes.

On November 23, consultations were held in Geneva between Ukraine and the USA regarding the war cessation plan proposed by the Trump administration. In a joint statement from the White House and the Office of the President of Ukraine, it was noted that an updated concept had been developed that fully supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and aims to achieve a just peace.

The White House indicated that there remain “a few delicate but not insurmountable details” of the peace agreement that require further consultations between Ukraine, Russia, and the USA.

On November 26, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed support for American efforts to find a peaceful resolution but emphasized that there would be no concessions from Moscow. US President Donald Trump also stressed that the main concession from the Russian Federation is the cessation of hostilities and the renunciation of further occupation of Ukrainian territories.

The Kremlin confirmed receipt of the updated versions of the peace plan but emphasized that serious discussions with the American side have not yet taken place.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, speaking in the European Parliament, expressed support for the US peace initiatives and noted that, thanks to the joint work of the delegations in Geneva, a starting point for further negotiations has been established. She emphasized that any peace agreement must guarantee real security for Ukraine and Europe.
