Agreement on Military Aviation and Air Defense
According to sources, during Zelensky’s visit to Paris, several strategic agreements between Ukraine and France are set to be signed. In particular, on Monday, November 17, the heads of state are expected to finalize arrangements for supplying Ukraine with modern air defense systems, combat aircraft, and missiles.
“According to the visit schedule, this will take place on Monday. The visit has substantial content. It is something that truly helps Ukraine defend itself and achieve our goals, our objectives,” he said.
Enhancing Ukraine’s Combat Capabilities
In his evening address ahead of the visit, Zelensky announced the signing of a “historic agreement” with France, which is expected to be a significant step towards strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities. Special attention will be given to the development of combat aviation and the enhancement of the air defense system.
Back in September, Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Havryliuk reported expectations of additional French Mirage fighter jets in Ukraine. By early 2025, Ukraine received the first batch of these Mirage-2000 aircraft. In March, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrated how the Mirage-2000 effectively destroyed Russian missiles during a massive air attack, marking a significant contribution to the protection of the country’s airspace.
