Key events planned for the coming months were also discussed, along with an agreement to exchange official visits to address pressing issues of bilateral cooperation.

We will definitely define the formats of interaction that will yield real results for our countries and our people,” Zelensky stated.

Position of the Polish Side and Historical Dialogue

Spokesman for the newly elected President of Poland, Rafał Leskiewicz, confirmed the conversation, stating that the initiative came from the Ukrainian side. According to Leskiewicz, Karol Nawrocki expressed support for Ukraine in its struggle against Russia, which he referred to as a “neo-imperial and colonial state ruled by war criminal Vladimir Putin.”

Particular attention during the dialogue was paid to historical policy. Leskiewicz noted that Nawrocki positions himself as a representative of a people demanding changes in Ukraine’s approach to important and still unresolved historical issues, emphasizing the need for their resolution in the future.

Karol Nawrocki, a 42-year-old Polish conservative politician and head of the Institute of National Remembrance, won in the second round of the Polish presidential elections held on June 1. His candidacy was supported by the opposition political force “Law and Justice” (PiS).

According to the official results from the electoral commission, after counting 100% of the votes, Nawrocki won with 50.89% of the votes cast.
