Zelensky stated that the Russian army is not preparing for a ceasefire

увесь світ бачить, чому бойові дії тривають

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted on April 27 that there are currently no signs of the Russian army preparing for a ceasefire in the Ukrainian-Russian war. In his video address, he emphasized that despite Russian claims of readiness for negotiations, the enemy’s activity on the front remains high.

Intelligence and military situation on the front

“The Russians talk a lot about their supposed readiness to accept American proposals, but so far there are no preparations by the Russian army for a real silence. On the contrary, since Easter, the occupiers have resumed their usual assault activity — indeed at the cost of significant losses, the Russians are trying to advance. And every day of such battles on the front clearly proves that Russia is indeed trying to deceive the world — to fool America and others — and to prolong this war further,” Zelensky stated.

Russian Ministry of Defense and statements from Western leaders

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in an interview with the American television channel CBS on April 27 that Russian troops continue to attack targets used by Ukrainian military forces. At the same time, according to Zelensky, Russian President Vladimir Putin had no reason to shell civilian areas, towns, and villages in recent days. After meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky, American President Donald Trump noted on April 26 that “Russian President Vladimir Putin had no reason” to shell civilian facilities, emphasizing that the situation is concerning and requires further analysis.
