Loss of Cultural Heritage
In the flames, over one hundred thirty titles of literature perished, including publications dedicated to the history of Ukraine from the Scythian era to the present day. This was reported by the founder of the publishing house, writer and member of the first convocation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Volodymyr Shovkoshytny.
“I was sifting through the ashes of fourteen years of my life… But I firmly believe in the Phoenix. Therefore, I am convinced – everything will be Ukraine!” And ‘Ukrainian Priority’ will definitely rise from the ashes,” the publisher is convinced.
Public Reaction and Plans for Recovery
The destruction of the book warehouse has been a painful loss for the Ukrainian cultural community, as the publishing house ‘Ukrainian Priority’ specialized in releasing books that highlight historical events, national identity, and the spirituality of Ukrainians. Despite the significant losses, the publishing team is determined to restore its activities and hopes to overcome the consequences of this tragedy.
