Ceramic Panel in the Pharmacy of Shevchenkivskyi District of Kyiv May Become a Cultural Heritage Site

The ceramic panel located in pharmacy No. 35 in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv may receive the status of a cultural heritage site. This decision was made by the members of the Advisory Council of the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Kyiv City State Administration.

Mosaic Panel and Its Cultural Value

The unique decorative frieze “Legends of Plants” and two mosaic panels that adorn the pharmacy at 32/38 Shcherbakivskyi Street have been recommended for inclusion in the list of newly discovered cultural heritage sites. This decision emphasizes the importance of preserving authentic works of monumental decorative art from the 1980s, which have influenced the development of Ukrainian culture and art.

“The ceramic frieze ‘Legends of Plants’ and the two panels that decorate pharmacy No. 35 of KP ‘Pharmacy’ (32/38 Shcherbakivskyi Street) are recommended to be granted the status of a newly discovered cultural heritage site,” the statement reads.

Documentation Development and Historical Significance

According to the Department, the Kyiv Scientific and Methodological Center for the Protection, Restoration, and Use of Historical and Cultural Monuments and Reserved Territories has already prepared accounting documentation for this rare work of art. The panel has preserved its authentic form and structure and has become an example of influence on the cultural development of Ukraine in the 1980s.

It is known that this artistic work is associated with the activities of Halyna Sevruk — a prominent artist who made a significant contribution to the establishment of Ukrainian monumental decorative art in the second half of the 20th century.
