In Kyiv, a Drunk Foreigner Caused an Accident with Injuries in Solomianskyi District

A traffic accident occurred in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv involving two foreigners, one of whom was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Details of the Accident on Pavlo Skoropadskyi Street

According to law enforcement, a 24-year-old foreigner, driving a Volkswagen, was traveling on Pavlo Skoropadskyi Street and collided with a Hyundai, which was driven by a 30-year-old citizen of Tajikistan. Both vehicles were moving in the same direction.

As a result of the collision, the Hyundai driver sustained injuries – he was diagnosed with a closed fracture of the arm. The injured party was taken to the hospital for medical assistance.

Driver Arrest and Accountability

The perpetrator of the traffic accident was arrested by the police at the scene. During an alcohol content check using a “Dräger” device, a level of 2.23 permille was recorded, significantly exceeding the permissible limit.

“Investigators from the capital’s police department informed the detainee of the suspicion under part 1 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violating traffic safety rules by individuals driving vehicles under the influence of alcohol). The perpetrator of the accident faces up to three years of imprisonment.”

Currently, necessary investigative actions are ongoing. The police emphasize the unacceptability of driving under the influence and remind of the responsibility for such offenses.
