The accused faces up to 15 years in prison for the committed crime.

In Kyiv, the pre-trial investigation has been completed regarding a 59-year-old man accused of intentional murder of an acquaintance. The case materials have already been submitted to the court, where the issue of the suspect’s responsibility will be considered in the near future.
Circumstances of the Crime
The investigation established that the tragedy occurred two months ago near the tram station “Puscha-Vodytsia 1.” The body of a 38-year-old local resident was found at that time. During the investigation, law enforcement officials determined that the suspect witnessed an argument between his cohabitant and the victim. According to the police, due to personal animosities and jealousy, the man dealt a fatal knife blow to his acquaintance’s chest.
“During the investigation, it was established that the suspect witnessed a conflict between his cohabitant and his acquaintance. Against the backdrop of personal animosities and jealousy, the man struck the victim in the chest with a knife, causing him to die on the spot,” the statement reads.
Legal Qualification and Preventive Measure
After committing the crime, the police promptly detained the assailant near the crime scene. He has been charged under part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional murder). The sanction of this article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to fifteen years.
Until the conclusion of the court proceedings, the accused will remain in custody.
