Details of the Shooting in Podil
According to reports, a 40-year-old man was drinking alcohol with acquaintances near the entrance of a residential building. During a verbal dispute with passersby, the assailant pulled out a traumatic pistol and opened fire. One of the victims sustained a leg injury, while the other was injured in the abdomen.
“During the conflict with local residents, the armed man fired several shots from his pistol. The incident occurred late in the evening near one of the residential buildings on European Union Avenue.”
Search and Arrest of the Suspect
After the shooting, the gunman fled; however, the Podil police department, in collaboration with criminal analysis analysts, quickly identified and located him. It turned out that the suspect lives in the same area. During a search, a traumatic pistol was seized from him. The man has been arrested and has already been informed of the charges against him.
Currently, law enforcement officials are conducting investigative actions to establish all the circumstances of the incident and the motives of the shooter. The injured individuals have received medical assistance.
