The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, held another meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff, during which key issues of the country’s defense capability and new technological initiatives were discussed. In his evening address on July 25, the head of state emphasized the need to strengthen Ukraine’s defense potential in light of current threats from Russia.

Defense Priorities and Border Reinforcement

At the meeting, representatives of the Foreign Intelligence Service and the Main Intelligence Directorate reported on the current and future challenges that Ukraine may face in the summer and fall. Special attention was paid to the operational situation, which was thoroughly analyzed by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi. The main focus was on the Pokrovsk direction and the border areas of Sumy region, where active measures are ongoing to enhance security.

“We discussed in detail the threats that need to be addressed. There was a report on the operational situation, presented by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi. All operational directions, especially Pokrovsk – received the most attention. Sumy region – we continue to operate in the border area,” he stated.

Technological Headquarters and Drone Production

Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the military units carrying out tasks on the territory of the Russian Federation and also acknowledged the contributions of partners who assist with weapon supplies. The Minister of Defense reported on ensuring uninterrupted supplies of weapons for Ukrainian soldiers.

One of the key decisions was the directive to prepare a Technological Headquarters focused on the development of drones. It is planned to ensure the production of 500 to 1000 interceptors daily within specified deadlines. This task has been placed under the personal responsibility of each official involved in the project’s implementation. The President also visited a company producing interceptor drones and praised the work of developers who are scaling up production for defense needs.

Zelensky reminded that on July 18, he instructed Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal to promptly conclude all necessary contracts for the supply of drones for the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Thus, the country is activating technological development to enhance the effectiveness of defense against Russian aggression.
