The State Guard of Ukraine has officially responded to the statements of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau regarding alleged obstruction during investigative actions in the government quarter of Kyiv. The head of the SBU, Oleksiy Morozov, assured that the agency’s subordinates do not obstruct the work of NABU detectives near European Square.

SBU’s Position and Details of the Investigation

According to the head of the agency, NABU employees attempted to bring unknown individuals onto the territory of the government portal. Currently, the identities of all those who tried to enter the restricted area are being established, and the verification of their documents and grounds is under control.

“The fact is that NABU employees are trying to bring unfamiliar or unclear individuals onto the regime’s territory, onto the government portal’s territory. We are currently identifying these individuals. We are checking who they are.”

Furthermore, representatives of the agency pointed out that the names of the individuals who were attempted to be brought in as witnesses are absent from the court ruling. According to the Criminal Procedure Code, witnesses must be random individuals found at the scene of the investigative actions, not individuals who are specifically brought through the government portal’s checkpoints. The SBU emphasized that it adheres to the admission procedure and checks everyone who attempts to enter the restricted area.

NABU’s Accusations and Ongoing Investigations

NABU, in turn, reported that SBU employees are restricting detectives’ access to the committees of the Verkhovna Rada specifically from the side of European Square, calling such actions a direct violation of the law and an obstruction of investigative actions.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the activities of an organized criminal group, which, according to the investigation, included current members of parliament, continues. It has been established that members of this group systematically received illegal benefits for voting in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The SAP reported that details of the special operation will be disclosed later.

On November 10, it became known about the exposure of a criminal organization that received kickbacks of 10–15% from the amount of contracts with Energoatom. In this case, eight individuals have been notified of suspicion, including businessman and co-founder of the Kvartal-95 studio, Timur Mindich. He has been placed on a national wanted list, and the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention in absentia.

According to the prosecution, Mindich was in overall charge of the group, distributing funds and property obtained through corruption schemes in the energy sector. Currently, detectives are working on the extradition procedure for Mindich and his subsequent arrest through Interpol.
